Immediate openings for hard-working, detail-oriented Auto Body Technicians or Combo Technicians. This body shop tech restores and rebuilds hotrods and muscle cars to their original integrity and function or better, repairing & replacing automotive bodies, panels, parts and mechanical units on all automobiles in for repairs in an effort to restore collision damaged vehicles efficiently, timely and to Studio Hotrods standards of quality. This is a team-based, fast-paced position requiring great attention to detail to ensure a quality refinish that wows every customer. We are looking for candidates that are looking to make this a career.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Review Repair Order for scope of work, and make changes for additional work needed and/or work not completed

  • Remove damaged automotive sections/parts of vehicles & install replacement parts

  • Hammer out or fill dents, dimples and other minor body damage

  • Fit, attach, weld & finish replacement automotive parts

  • File, grind, sand & smooth filled or repaired surfaces

  • Prepare areas outside repair areas to avoid damaging surrounding surfaces during repair

  • Maintain clean and safe work area

  • Ensure safe movement of vehicles in, out and through the body shop

  • Assist and back up Painter in prepping, buffing, painting, etc.

  • Perform any other duties as requested and needed by craftsmen and management for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective repair

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • 2+ years experience in auto body collision repair

  • Must have own tools

  • Valid driver license in good standing

  • Dependable & punctual with good attendance

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • High attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with good work ethic

  • Team-oriented

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Willingness to learn

JOB TYPE:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Automotive Technician (2 years preferred)

YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND: GENERAL FABRICATION

1. General Fabrication skills and understanding of automotive structure required
2. Custom Metal Fabrication
3. TIG & MIG Welding experience - Certified and Provable Skills strongly preferred
4. Knowledge and experience of using standard shop equipment safely

YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND: MECHANICS

1. Carbureted and Fuel Injection engine systems and upgrades
2. Early and Modern Suspension Functionality, Repairs and Upgrades
3. Knowledge of Turbo Diagnostic, Repair and Installation preferred by not required
4. Exhaust System - From Header Design to custom installation of high-performance systems
5. Brakes - Diagnose and repair or upgrade installation of all brake components
6. Experienced mechanical aptitude is a must and provable
