The Sub Wave is a complete trunk-mounted audio and power solution designed specifically for 1968–1970 Chevelle/Malibu - only available at Studio Hotrods. It installs underneath the package tray, keeping your trunk floor fully usable so you can still load golf clubs, groceries, luggage, and other cargo without losing space to bulky audio equipment.
At the core of the system is a custom subwoofer enclosure preloaded with a 10" 500 Watt Rockford Fosgate P1S4-10 subwoofer, mounted to a rigid platform that also integrates battery mounting and amplifier mounting options. Everything is packaged as one matched system to simplify installation and reduce clutter in the trunk.
The integrated platform includes a dedicated battery mounting locationdesigned specifically for Optima batteries, ensuring secure fitment and clean cable routing. An optional amplifier package is available using the KENWOOD eXcelon X803-5 Class D 5-Channel 1600W amplifier and a custom bracket designed specifically for the Sub Wave platform.
Also included are two contour-cut trunk back panels that mount behind the rear seat. One panel contains integrated battery power distribution along with a remote battery disconnect system, allowing you to shut off vehicle battery power using a key fob. The second panel is blank, giving you space to mount additional components such as a dedicated subwoofer amplifier, capacitor, or other accessories.
The Sub Wave delivers a true all-in-one solution with straightforward installation, a fully integrated audio and power package, and a design that keeps your trunk completely usable. You get modern bass performance, organized power management, and clean fitment — all while still having room for the things you actually use your Chevelle for, from golf clubs to groceries to luggage.
