No-Weld Smooth Firewall Panel 1 + Vintage Air Mounting Plate - '68-'72 Chevelle

Smooth your firewall the clean and simple way—no welding required. This kit is for people who only want the main firewall smooth panel and the Vintage Air quick-mounting plate. The main panel seals off the factory opening and gives your engine bay a clean, finished look, while the quick-mounting plate provides an easy, accurate way to bolt up your Vintage Air evaporator without fabrication.

The main firewall panel is made from thick 14-gauge steel for strength, durability, and a precision fit. It bolts on and bonds in place, providing a smooth, custom appearance without the warping or distortion that can come from welding. Once installed, it’s ready for standard bodywork and paint to achieve a seamless finish.

The Vintage Air quick-mounting plate bolts to the inside of the firewall using the four studs that pass through from the main panel, eliminating guesswork and ensuring consistent alignment.

An optional install kit is available that includes panel bond, SEM EZ Coat, and an epoxy gun.

Panel Installation Steps:

• Cut away unnecessary portions of the OEM firewall.

• Smooth the OEM firewall with a grinder.

• Prime both the existing firewall and the backside of the new panel using SEM EZ Coat.

• Position the provided templates over the original firewall using the included magnets, and drill holes as marked.

• Apply 3M Panel Bond to the new panel and align it, ensuring all studs pass through correctly.

• Secure the panel and Vintage Air plate with the supplied nuts from inside the car.

• Finish with bodywork and paint for a seamless, custom appearance.
